Supporting The Community

In response to the challenge of climate change and the UK Governments targets for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, Wehrle Environmental are keen to support a range of sustainable projects in our local schools.

The UK Department for Education and Skills has set targets for achieving 'sustainable schools' through the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, and by encouraging schools to adopt policies to encourage all stakeholders to reduce their carbon footprints. Initiatives such as discouraging air travel in favour of more 'environmentally-friendly' holidays along with enabling more children to walk to and from school are encouraged.

At Wehrle Environmental we believe that it is young people we need to focus on to make these policies a reality.
