Wehrle and Thermax India set up cooperation |

In June 2009 Wehrle signed a cooperation contract with Thermax India, based in Pune. The agreement finalises Wehrle’s long search for a suitable partner with whom to set up operations in India. Thermax (www.thermaxindia.com) is a global solutions provider in energy and environmental engineering, with extensive knowledge in the field of waste and waste water. Here, though, the focus has so far been on municipal sewage and less difficult to treat waste water. Together with Wehrle Thermax now wants to tackle challenging wastewater. The immediate focus is on the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, dyes and pigments, paints and other industries which have difficulty complying with strict outlet requirements for industrial wastewater in India. Thermax, a large international company with an estimated yearly turn-over of around US$ 400 Million, has a team of 180 personnel in the water sector alone. From those an expert group for the treatment of difficult waste water will be recruited to work with Wehrle’s process specialists.
