Third order from SUFI within one year for a MBT wastewater treatment plant |

Following the projects "Los Hornillos" (Valencia) and "Mataró" (Barcelona), the Spanish company SUFI entrusted Wehrle with the construction of a mechanical-biological waste treatment plant (MBT) for "Ecoparque La Rioja" in Logroño in July 2010. In the Ecoparque, organic waste, as well as recycling materials from the region, are treated after suitable pre-treatment by a fermentation process to generate biogas. The wastewater resulting from this process will be treated further by Wehrle using membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. With this order Wehrle gains its seventh Spanish reference for a wastewater plant treating effluent originating from an MBT plant. Wehrle will construct a BIOMEMBRAT® MBR plant, which replaces a former plant in the Ecoparque area. The plant is designed for a hydraulic capacity of 150 m3/d. The wastewater influent is characterized by a COD of 23.000 mg/l and an ammonia nitrogen concentration of 2800 mg/l. The system will incorporate a reverse osmosis system for tertiary treatment to fulfil the strict requirements for discharge and reuse. An outlet concentration of less than 160 mg/l COD and 2000 mg/l chloride will be achieved. Author: Dr.-Ing. Torben Blume / Elina Golami Please contact us for further information. |
