The patented Wehrle MBR-MS (also known as the BIOMEMBRAT®-LE) process is suitable for the treatment of medium strength wastewaters e.g. wastewater from breweries, dairies, chemical and galvanising plants, the automotive industries and leachate.
Wehrle MBR-MS process schematic
In external membrane plants, where the membrane modules are arranged in series, there is always the risk that should the feed flow be reduced, the transmembrane pressure will cause compaction on the membrane surface in the first module. A reduction in the feed flow would therefore be accompanied by a reduction in the filtration capacity. It is possible to avoid this situation with the Wehrle MBR-MS process.
Wehrle MBR-MS is the optimal process for medium loaded wastewaters as a high filtration capacity can be achieved whilst maintaining low investment, energy and membrane replacement costs.
